Hello! We’ve had a few lineup changes over the past few months and most of our remaining members are tied up with real life things. We’d like to add a few members to our team and hopefully get our stalled projects going.
Tranquil Spring is seeking people for the following positions:
Editors:
Experienced editors are always welcome, but anyone with Photoshop is welcomed to take a crack at the Editor Test.
Those with previous manga editing experience can simply send or direct us to manga that they’ve worked on (preferably with a copy of the raws).
Translators:
Japanese to English translators, please download the Translator Test.
Chinese to English translators can attempt the Translator Test (CHN). Do note that Chinese translators are also given Japanese raws for accuracy purposes, so knowing kana is a plus.
Quality Check:
Please download the QC Test. Your QC report should cover both editing mishaps and grammatical oddities. This role has generally been filled by our editors, but anyone with a keen eye can give it a shot.

Edit: I forgot to list 14 Juicy (Ch17; Edit), Mugendai Enten, and (a few?) Horii Kisuke oneshots from Tsubomi. It’s quite possible that I’ve left something out.
Edit 2: Editor Test updated to v2 (._. ) as the previous one had the wrong script.
Out of curiosity I took a look at the editor test and WOW!
I had no idea so much work went into the editing side of scanlation! I now have a much greater respect for the amount of time and effort that goes into the process. Thanks for all the great work you guys do and I hope you find good peeps!
Editing sure is really hard! which makes me want to praise u guys for your great work even more.

Dude seriously man. I took a look at all the tests just out of curiosity as well and my honest reaction was: “What… the. fuck.”
Had no clue.
Seriously, any group scanlating is just incredible. The time and effort required is very appreciated.

for pagez 004-005 .. i think the script u gave is different.. xD
im a newbie @ editing mangas but i luv usin’ photoshop, and i want to help out as much as i can.. ^^

Please just try your best. It’s a rather lengthy and difficult test, and we’re not necessarily looking for perfection. We value a good effort. :]
On page 5 script(from link), isn’t the last line belong to Rieko ?

Sorry to impose on you once more. I took your edititing test, and I want to know is it necessary to complete all of them? One particular page I problem with is connecting / redrawing the 2 color pages. As for the others, they were time consuming (first-timer) but i managed to edit them all. Would I still qualify ?
P.S I was so frustrated I deleted them all

it’s preferred that they all be completed, yes, even if they’re not perfect. it’ll still give us an idea of where you’re at and suggestions can be made accordingly. also, color pages are a minority, generally only occurring in the first few pages of a tankoubon, if at all. dealing with B&W pages and being able to level, clean and typeset is the main concern.
so, go ahead and send what you have, if you still have it
I sent in the reaults. I just realize that I typesetted the texts wrong. I didn’t notice at all that texts inside boxes and bubbles are capped. So please disregard that part when you’re grading them, as i already made a note of it.

Just a little note: On Page 002-003 isn’t the artist’s name supposed to be “Maika Netsu” instead of “Maika Kitsu”?
